Ceramic Coating provides longer-lasting protection than our shorter-term exterior protection options. Durable hydrophobic behaviour improves how water moves across the paint and makes routine cleaning easier.

Protection has limits. A coating is not scratch-proof, stone-chip proof, damage-proof, maintenance-free or permanent. It cannot guarantee prevention of water spotting or contamination.
02 / THE WORK UNDERNEATH
Preparation is a major
part of the service.
The coating comes after the surface is ready.
We assess the paint, wash and decontaminate it, then use suitable machine preparation or polishing where appropriate. Panel preparation removes remaining residues before coating application.
Ceramic Coating is not automatically a paint-correction service. If substantially more corrective work is needed, we assess and agree that work with you before proceeding. The intended result and safe working limits guide the recommendation.

Wash
A safe exterior wash establishes a clean starting point.

Decontaminate
Appropriate decontamination addresses bonded residue left after washing.

Prepare
Assess the paint, carry out suitable machine preparation and prepare each panel.

Coat
Apply and level the coating on the prepared exterior paint.

Cure
Allow the required curing period in suitable conditions.
Final inspection and aftercare guidance complete the service. Appointment and curing times are confirmed after assessment.

Both options include appropriate preparation, application, curing, final inspection and aftercare guidance. Actual durability depends on use, maintenance, environmental exposure and aftercare.
04 / SUITABILITY
Start with the vehicle.
New vehicles
New does not automatically mean defect-free or preparation-free.
New vehicles can be suitable for Ceramic Coating, but still require assessment and appropriate preparation. New Car Protection is a reason to enquire, not a separate coating package.
Older vehicles
Age alone does not determine suitability.
We consider paint condition, contamination, defects, previous protection, your intended result and safe machine-preparation limits. Older vehicles do not automatically need paint correction.

We provide mobile Ceramic Coating across Newcastle upon Tyne and Gateshead where suitable working and curing conditions are available.
Access, safe working space, weather, panel and environmental conditions all matter. We assess these with the vehicle before confirming the work.
Appointment time depends on vehicle size, condition, preparation required and selected service. We confirm the expected timeframe after assessment.

Correct care

Coated vehicles still need correct washing and maintenance. We explain the appropriate aftercare at handover.
Monthly Maintenance Detail is an optional ongoing-care pathway once the vehicle qualifies. It is not mandatory, does not guarantee maximum coating durability, and does not include unlimited corrective work.

It helps preserve a properly prepared finish. It does not make paint scratch-proof, stone-chip proof or damage-proof, and it cannot guarantee prevention of water spotting or contamination.
1-Year Ceramic Coating provides up to 12 months of protection. 3-Year Ceramic Coating provides up to 36 months of protection, with greater durability and chemical resistance. Both include appropriate preparation, coating application, curing, inspection and aftercare guidance.
The paint needs a suitable surface before coating. We assess it, wash and decontaminate it, carry out suitable machine preparation where appropriate, and prepare the panels before application. Ceramic Coating is not automatically a paint-correction service; substantially more corrective work is assessed and agreed separately.
Yes, subject to assessment. New does not automatically mean defect-free or preparation-free. The paint condition determines the appropriate preparation; there is no separate New Car Ceramic package.

Yes. Correct washing and ongoing maintenance remain necessary. We provide aftercare guidance. Monthly Maintenance Detail is an optional pathway after qualification; buying maintenance is not mandatory and does not guarantee maximum coating durability.
The timeframe depends on vehicle size, condition, preparation required and the selected service. C4 Auto Detail will advise the expected appointment and curing timeframe once the vehicle, work and suitable conditions have been assessed.
